He has been Professor Assistant in the University Department of Psychiatry in Paris 12 (Cr\u00e9teil) and Paris 6 (Piti\u00e9-Salp\u00eatri\u00e8re) and worked on functional imaging at the CEA. After his post-doctoral training in experimental psychology in a CNRS research unit, he was recruited at the Inserm in 2004 to study the behavioral aspects of the deep brain stimulation in human, and to develop innovative treatments in psychiatry. Since 2008, he leads the BEBG team in the Brain and Spine Institute (ICM), wherein the main focus of research is the identification of processes involved in the treatment of information by the basal ganglia and its links to psychopathology, as well as the development of innovative treatments for severe neuropsychiatric disorders that are resistant to medical therapy. In particular, he coordinates a series of translational research projects aimed at characterizing the pathophysiology of repeated pathological behaviors in humans, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
