I initially trained as a clinical psychologist, then became interested in the sociology of science and conducted an ethnography on the production of an innovative treatment for Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. I employed an original participant-observer method that has since structured my work. It grants me privileged access to a ‘hot’ science in the making, as Bruno Latour would put it. My research program, decidedly transdisciplinary, aims to analyze the transformations of knowledge, practices, and social structures within the expanding field of psychiatry-mental health. I study epistemic dynamics, social logics, and experiences lived by actors in the fields of suicide prevention, e-mental health, the ‘psychedelic renaissance,’ and therapeutic hypnosis. Weaving individuals’ perspectives and narratives is the common thread in my research. This leads me to engage, even interweave, multiple disciplines: the humanities and social sciences, psychiatry, public health, technology, and the arts.

To bring these dialogues to life and prevent them from being confined to research labs and academic writings, I created a multimedia work: Kilomètre 25 746,’ which retraces my journey to meet 29 individuals with suicidal tendencies at their homes across France. I then produced a podcast, or rather a science-fictional play, ‘Regard(e)‘ where a theater company gives form to the narratives I collected from participants in a project teaching photography to hospitalized individuals with mental health disorders and healthcare professionals, without hierarchy between them.
